Why do you charge more for the design of the first page of a site?
This is because each of our sites is unique and styled to fully reflect you and/or your business. The greatest input into any site’s creation is therefore at this initial stage of conceptual design and the input remains the same, whether the site is only one page or a hundred pages. Secondly, this is also the stage at which we research and identify the overall optimisation strategy. Instead of spreading the cost over all pages, we opted for the higher first page fee to more accurately apportion costs.

I can get a website much cheaper than yours. Why such a big difference?
Each of our sites is a unique creation, determined by your offering and objectives. We have toyed with the idea of using standard templates, which dramatically reduces the time involved and therefore the cost. It was a strategic decision to maintain our unique approach. Please also look out for hidden costs. Often, companies that offer cheap websites make this up in higher monthly hosting fees, tied to long term contracts.

I have been quoted much more by another web design company. Why? Do you have hidden extra costs?
Not at all. Our costs are all declared upfront and, if you happen to catch us on a hectic day and we forgot to declare any cost, we take the loss.

Why are others more expensive? - At the end of the day web designers/developers will charge what people are prepared to pay. We believe that many are grossly overcharging, but that is our opinion. Our aim is to maintain fees at an affordable but realistic level, without becoming cheap and being forced to produce substandard and uninspired work and service as a result.

Can’t I pay you a percentage of my increased business rather than the monthly optimisation fee?
Sorry. No. There are overheads and costs involved in the optimisation (even geeks have to eat) and it can take months before results start to show. This lag is caused by the search engines and directories themselves and is something over which we have no control. It would simply not be feasible for us to offer the service on those terms.

Why is the optimisation package so expensive?
It actually isn’t. We charge way below the norm at this stage and, in addition, we are not just doing pure optimisation, but also comprehensive internet marketing.

Be sure to compare apples with apples. In addition to the fact that our package entails comprehensive marketing, we also have a defined contract period. Some companies offer a lower monthly rate, but the term is indefinite and works out much more expensive in the end. One of the biggest problems with this second type of company is that all they do is optimise one page and that page never belongs to you. - If you ever cancel the contract, you may no longer use the page that they created. With us, you have paid for the service and the site, as well as all our efforts, is therefore yours.

Finally, we are doing it the proper way and that takes a lot of time and input.

Why do you charge so much less for your optimisation/marketing than other companies? We know that there are companies charging as much as $200 US per page. We believe this is excessive for our market.

Our primary focus is small to medium sized businesses and we deliberately keep our overheads and fees low so that our services are affordable. We see no need to charge the earth.

When do I pay for various services?

All amounts owing are invoiced electronically and emailed to clients. We do not generate paper invoices or post invoices by snail mail.

All amounts owing are payable in full on receipt of invoice.

Domain registration and/or transfer fees are payable immediately that they are ordered.

A deposit of 50% is payable before commencement of any design or development work.

All other one-off amounts (like the balance due on site development) are invoiced and payable immediately upon completion.

All monthly fees, such as hosting or marketing, are invoiced between the 23rd and 30th of the month and are payable by the 1st of the new month. Cheque payments should please be made early to allow for a 10 working day clearance period.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, direct deposits, internet transfers and cheques. Please note that cheques require a 10 working day clearance period and services will be delayed until cheques are cleared. We regret the inconvenience that this may cause, but have been forced to impliment this due to the high incidence of cheque fraud.

What happens if I am late with a payment?
We are reasonable and understand that things sometimes go wrong. We will not simply suspend or terminate an account for non-payment, provided that you contact us before due date if you have a problem. The only time that we will suspend or terminate is if we feel that you are not doing anything to sort out the problem; if we feel that our willingness to assist a client is being abused; if the problem is continuing for an excessive period with no sign of resolution; if the problem occurs frequently.

An account can and most likely will be terminated with no further warning if the next months account becomes overdue while the site is already suspended for non-payment.

Please note that no new service will be activated until payment has been received in full. This includes the commencement of work on a website, the final uploading or release of a website, domain registration and domain transfers.
